Swarovski, silver and pearls, oh my!

A light summery silver necklace with a little of everything in it.......some freshwater pearl buttons, some of those fabulous pearl coins, Swarovski crystal in two different shapes and three different sizes, some seed beads and a myriad of sterling silver beads - tiny Karen Hill Tribe rounds, liquid silver, daisy spacers, bali-inspired starfish..........
a REALLY fabulous sterling silver sun shaped toggle clasp (I mean, what would the beach be with no sun?!).... and a big beautiful Swarovski crystal starfish. Three strands of varying lengths captured in sterling silver cones on each end - perfect for any time of day or night.

Heralding Spring

Where does the time go? I haven't had a lot of time lately to make jewelry (2 10 month old puppies, maybe?) but I found these beautiful soft green Murano foil beads at my LBS and went crazy with the wire! I used 18 gauge (non-tarnish) gold artistic wire and made some "squiggles" and a couple of spirals; wrapped some Czech beads, some Swarovski crystals and a couple of faceted teardrops and added a couple of each in between each Murano bead. The bracelet has nice movement and, more importantly to me, looks like SPRING! (yes, we do still have snow on the ground!)

Week 44 - Moonlight Sonata

Lyrical words evoking images of soft summer evenings, full glowing moon and music softly playing. I wanted to capture the feel of music - the movement of notes through a piece - the feel of the highs and lows throughout. Using black steel wire I fashioned U shaped links which each hold one single crystal dichroic seed bead (the flash on these is AMAZING and something I am simply unable to capture with the camera) - my nod to the midnight mood - with a Swarovski crystal focal centered between two faceted crystal quartz rounds - to represent the moonlight. The necklace is 17" long (with an extender chain at the handwrought 'S 'clasp) and sits nicely at the neck. While this piece did not come out at all like I first imagined it (how many times has that happened!!!?)and in spite of the fact that I didn't (unfortunately) have a moonstone briolette the right size to serve as a focal, I am happy with it.
